Day 2: Drive to Arughat Bazaar

You follow the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway for the first part of the day and then head towards the bazaar of Gorkha. It will take around seven hours to reach Arughat from Kathmandu. Here, you will roam around the town, walk across the suspension bridge and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 3: Trek to Sundi Khola

You will head North from Arughat, following the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail takes you through spectacular rice paddies and quaint villages on your way to your next destination, Kyoropani village. It will be a nice, short hike to Sundhi Khola with the potential for an energizing swim during the day.

Day 4: Machha Khola

From Sundi Khola, the scenery changes. The vast and wide valley narrows with the trail, at times, transforming into a steep and densely forested valley. You will walk through several enchanting villages with serene landscapes, until you reach the village of Lapbesi.

From here, you will walk down to the wide, sandy riverbed and follow a path that runs below the steep valley side. After, you ascend to Machha Khola to spend the night.

Day 5: Jagat

You walk across the Machha River and head upstream to the small village of Khola Bensiand, where you will experience the hot springs at Tatopani. The trail is exposed, thrilling and challenging.

After a short hike along the forested way, you will reach the single teahouse at Doban. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the series of rapids of the Buri Gandaki River. From Doban, you will continue hiking to Jagat, crossing the river by way of suspension bridge at Lauri.

Day 6: Deng

From Jagat, you will descend down a long stretch of stone steps to the river and again climb a terraced hill to Saguleri. Saguleri is the perfect hill to view the imposing and captivating Sringi mountain. The trail continues uphill from Saguleri through a gorge with gigantic walls. From here, you take an easy to navigate route, crossing the river three times in the next two hours, before ascending another path to reach the Deng village.

Day 7: Ghap

The sheer-sided valley is an amazing sight to see. From here, you walk through the Lama villages, observing the mani stones. Mani stones (Prayers imprinted onto the rocks) symbolize the entrance into the high Buddhist region.

After walking a windy trail for around four hours, you reach Ghap village. You will feel the drastic change in climate and culture here at the high Tibetan area.

Day 8: Lho village

The trail takes you into alpine territory, meaning you notice the increasingly present views of the mountains. You will find many more mani walls and prayer flags en route to Namrung.
