Are you concerned if you will have enough of time to travel and experience Costa Rican culture while volunteering in the programs? Free Time –San Jose
While volunteering in Costa Rica programs you will be working about 4- 5 hours every day. You will get plenty of free time in the morning and in the evenings to explore nearby natural and cultural attractions in San Jose.
GCR’s volunteer projects are located in the capital city, San Jose. It is the city of laid-back charm of cultural significance with historic neighborhoods, colonial mansions, contemporary art galleries, and rhythmic nightlife. During your free time you will be able to spend a lot of time here for life-long cherished memories and rewarding experiences in Costa Rica.
Weekend Exploration
In Costa Rica, you will work for 5 days in a week from Monday through to Friday.. You will have 2 days off in a week, which you can spend by going around places of natural and cultural wonders in Costa Rica, and bask under its traditional glory.
Costa Rica has different varieties of tourist attractions for everyone to observe and experience. It is a nature’s paradise of hidden oasis. This Peaceful soul of Central America holds misty volcanic peaks, bat filled caves, rainforests, canopy zip lines, butterflies, colorful tropical sea life and a great place to hike. All these enticing travel attractions presents a great enticing opportunity for you to explore and travel during the weekends while participating in Costa Rica volunteering programs.

This is a fairytale storybook look alike garden complex that offers a good cultural experience in the Central Valley. La Paz Waterfall Gardens features well-maintained trails with five scenic waterfalls, a butterfly conservatory, hummingbirds and hand-feed toucans. These attractions are some of the best. This is a great memorable experience.
This museum houses the world’s largest collection of American jade with an ample exhibition space of five floors offering seven exhibits. It houses nearly 7000 finely crafted, well-conserved pieces, from translucent jade carvings depicting fertility goddesses, shamans, frogs and snakes to incredible ceramics. You want to be here and experience its artistic craftsmanship and take back rewarding memories of volunteer in Costa Rica programs.
What would a trip to Costa Rica be without a good time at the beach? Playa Cocles is one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica for wave surfing. It has steep sandy beaches and a deep reef that can be seen and admired. The experience that you get is distinct breathtaking. Hacienda Barú National Wildlife Refuge
Hacienda Baru is for you if you are an animal lover. This is one of the most beautiful nature reserves marked with self-guided trails. Get ready to see in all their glory the gorgeous pristine Costa Rican beaches, riverbanks, mangrove estuaries, wetlands, primary and secondary forests, tree plantations pastures, zip lines and also join bird watching and walking tours.
