Ciudad Cortes

You’ll  be working in Costa Rica volunteer programs for about 4-5 hours each day leaving you plenty of free time in the mornings and evenings to spend by visiting surrounding places of natural and culture significance.

The volunteer projects are located in Ciudad Cortes. This city is known for its stunning beaches, diverse parks, Old Catholic churches, historical museums, marine wildlife, restaurants and nightlife.  All these experiences and places provide a wonderful array of activities and attractions during your free time to visit in Costa Rica.


Weekend Exploration

While volunteering in Costa Rica you will work 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, leaving you two days off (Saturday and Sunday) in a week. You can spend these days visiting different parts of the country.

There are number of tourist attractions in Costa Rica for everyone depending on your interest, taste and desire. Costa Rica is a rugged, rain forested Central American country known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. The kind of adventure you cannot afford to miss. Some of the best destinations you can explore during the weekend while volunteering in Costa Rica program include:

Museo de Insectos

Costa Rica wildlife and insects are renowned as one of the greatest attractions to see, and you cannot miss this one. Museo de Insectos, is the largest and one of the most reputed insect museums in Central America. The museum is housed in the basement of the music building, painted in shade of pink. It is known for its extensive collection of sample worms, scarabs and crickets.  The phenomenal experience and time time spent here will give you an experience of a lifetime one that will make you understand different species, behavior and life span of insects. You cannot miss that!

Tree of Life

A tour in Costa Rica is not complete without a trip to connect with the most beautiful bio diverse nature in the world. Tree of Life is a well-maintained wildlife center and a botanical garden in Cahuita that surpasses all your imagination. It is home to the rescued animals such as kinkajous, peccaries, sloths, monkeys and toucans that are rehabilitated and protected. This will be an eye- opening experience for you during your volunteer opportunities in Costa Rica you do not want to miss out on and learn about the unique wildlife and trees aged over 100 years found in Costa Rica.

Aiko-logi

If you love nature then Aiko-logi is the ideal viewpoint to connect with. It is a private 135- hectare wildlife reserve situated on a land surrounded by dense primary forest. It is an ideal place for bird watching, hiking and splashing around in swimming holes. Just walking around with fresh forest breeze while connecting with the natural environmental and exotic wildlife is an experience out of a dream. You really don’t want to miss out on this one!

Parque Nacional Carara

Explore Carara National Park the most famous parks in Costa Rica. It is best known for its captivating and charming bird species, the scarlet macaw. You will be able to get a close sighting of the macaw quiet easily along with 400 other bird species, and Costa Rica’s largest crocodiles in the waterways. This experience is one of the most unique and almost the only natural habitat bird watching opportunities in the world. Experiencing this will make your volunteer trip worthwhile, because chances like this don’t come often.

Explore the Parque Nacional Los Quetzales to catch glimpses of the endangered Quetzal species and the Jaguars
