Free Time - Ghana

You will work for 5 hours every day while working in Ghana volunteer programs. You get free time in the morning and in the evenings for exploring the nearby places of natural beauty and cultural splendors of Ghana.

The volunteer projects are located in the capital city of Accra and Kasoa. Ghana is popularly known for its rich culture, diverse wildlife, and friendly people. Your visit here in your free time while volunteering in Ghana will be a life changing experience for you to remember.


Weekend Exploration

While volunteering in Ghana programs you will be working for 5 days in a week from Sunday to Friday. You get 2 days off in a week which you can spend by visiting the places of natural beauty and cultural significance in Ghana.

There are plenty of tourist attractions in Ghana for everyone to explore with any kind of interest or taste. The city of Accra in Ghana has excellent nightlife, great place for shopping and trying out various eating options. Kasoa on the other hand is a commercial town. It has UNESCO sites, beaches, wildlife and castles. There are plenty of things to do and explore this magnificent country during your weekends when you come for Ghana volunteering opportunities.

Cape Coast Castle

Cape Coast’s is an impressive whitewashed castle in Ghana.  Overlooking the sea it is one of the world's most important slave-holding sites, which is blessed with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic ocean views. All these experiences in the weekends while volunteering in ghana will give you memories of a lifetime.

Kejetia Market

This is Ghana’s sprawling market place located in Kumasi. Here you will find rusting tin roofs that nestles 11,000 that looks like a circular shanty town. Right from foodstuffs to bracelets you will find everything here of daily use. This market experience derived during weekends in Ghana volunteering programs will keep your eyes wide open with surprise and astonishment till the end.

Mole National Park

This is one of the best National parks to get up close and personal with bus-sized elephants. Spanning across 4660 sq km this park is home to gangs of baboons, warthogs, water bucks and antelopes – 90 species and ideal place for wildlife viewing. These natural observations made by you in the weekends while participating in volunteer opportunities in Ghana is memorable and rewarding encounter for you remember always.

Jamestown

Jamestown is one the poorer neighborhoods of Accra that comprised of colonial buildings, clapboard houses and corrugated iron shacks. Also to get an extended look of the city and its busy colorful fishing harbor one can climb to the top of the whitewashed lighthouse. This is an exciting and distinct experience that you get during the weekends while taking part in Volunteer programs in Ghana.
