Mini Volunteer and Travel Escape in Nepal involves both volunteering and travelling in Nepal. In the volunteering part, you will have the option to volunteer in an orphanage, volunteer teaching English at a local school, or lend a healing hand in the medical program. You will spend the first 10 days of your volunteer abroad experience helping others. After you complete your volunteering commitment, you will embark on a three-day travel of a lifetime! This is a unique chance to explore the fascinating and stunning country.

This mini volunteer and trekking escape in Nepal is a perfect blend of volunteering and trekking through the Chitwan National Park.
Day 0:
Arrive at the Tribhuvan International airport (Kathmandu) and transfer to home base.
Day 1: Orientation and Welcome
Global Crossroad’s 2-week volunteer abroad program in Nepal orientation takes place at the Kathmandu office. Orientation covers history, culture, religion, children's issues, field conditions, host family, safety issues, climate expectations, working projects, and related topics
Days 2-11: Volunteer Work in Orphanage/Teaching/Medicine
For the first 10 days of your 2-week volunteer abroad in Nepal experience, you will work in either an orphanage, a school, or a medical clinic or hospital. In your free time, you will explore the wonders of rural Nepal -its natural beauty, its intriguing culture, and its spirited people. Our local field staff will assist you along the way.
Explore Nepal
During your last three days, you will explore Chitwan National Park, one of the most famous tourist hubs in Nepal. Located in the mid-Terai regions of Nepal, Chitwan National Park has many things to offer.
DAY One: Travel from Kathmandu to Chitwan
You will take an early tourist bus to Chitwan where you will take part in Nepal's river rafting experience - passing by scenic hills and landscapes from Fishling. Then, you will journey onto Mungling before continuing to Chitwan National Park (estimated 3 hour drive). Accommodations: Tourist hotel/Guesthouse
DAY Two: Explore Chitwan National Park
After an early wake-up time and breakfast, you will tour the jungle while simultaneously experiencing the unique bird species within Chitwan's National Park. After this tour, you will canoe the Rapti and Narayani Rivers. These river waters are inhabited by carnivorous crocodiles, as well as other unique species of animals and birds. Return to camp and break for lunch before voyaging through the culture-rich village of Tharu. You will then have dinner and an overnight at the lodge.

DAY three: Explore Chitwan National Park
In the morning, you will safari though Chitwan National Park's jungles atop an elephant while simultaneously witnessing an abundance of the park's flora and fauna. Upon return to the camp and after lunch, you can visit the park's elephant stables where the senior naturalists will provide an in-depth lecture about the behavior/life of these majestically giant, often gentle creatures.
