Do you want to help the people of Tanzania while also exploring this captivating country in Africa? Global Crossroad’s offers an incredible volunteer and safari opportunity in Tanzania. Tanzania is a great country to visit and is rich in cultural and natural wonders. However, it is also a developing country suffering from poverty, HIV/AIDS, and other social issues.
A 2-week volunteer and safari abroad program in Tanzania offers you a combined volunteering and safari experience. This unique program gives you a perfect opportunity to share your energy and love with the unprivileged children and people of the Tanzanian. You have the choice of volunteering in an orphanage, working with HIV/AIDS awareness, or assisting in the medical program as part of your volunteer abroad for two weeks in Tanzania trip.
You will begin the first stage of the short-term volunteer trip in Tanzania by working as a volunteer in the program of your choice. Then, you will embark on a 3-day journey where you will set off on a delightful safari in Tanzania, which will cover two national parks.

Mini Volunteer and Safari Escape in Tanzania Proposed Itinerary
Our mini volunteer and safari escapes are a great blend of volunteering opportunities and safari outings.
Day 0: Welcome and Arrival
You will arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to Global Crossroad's hostel (for first night).
Day 1: Orientation and Visitation of the Project
Your first day of your charity work abroad for two weeks in Tanzania will start with an orientation program, which covers the history, geography, culture, people and other issues related to Tanzania. The program also covers health, safety, dos and don’ts, and other issues related to volunteering. We will also go over your itinerary and discuss your roles and responsibilities. At the end, there will be a Q & A session.
Day 2-11: Volunteer Work in an Orphanage/HIV/AIDS Awareness, or Medical Program
For next 10 days of your 2-week volunteer abroad program in Tanzania, you will work as a volunteer in local orphanage, with HIV/AIDS awareness, or in the medical program. As a volunteer in an orphanage, you will mostly teach English and organize creative extra-curricular activities like playing games, drawing, singing, and dancing. You will also help to clean the orphanage, cook food, distribute food, and help the children with personal hygiene.
Day 12-14: Explore Tanzania
Tanzania is a world-famous safari destination. Every year thousands of tourist arrive in Tanzania to explore the country and see the wildlife. You will also embark on 3 day world class safari program as the second part of your short term volunteer trip in Tanzania.
DAY One- Lake Manyara National Park
From Moshi, you will set out for Lake Manyara National Park in the early morning for a full day's safari. Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, described by famed author Ernest Hemingway as "the loveliest I had seen in Africa." The short, hard-hitting game-viewing experience contained within this area provides a little taste of Tanzania 's large variety of wildlife. With lush groundwater likened to that of a jungle, this area supports an abundance of wildlife - blue monkey, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and over 400 species of birds!
In addition to the variety of wildlife, the landscape offers picturesque views of forests, grassy floodplains stretching east, an alkaline lake, and the dramatic, volcanic peaks of Maasai Steppes.

DAY Two: N'gorongoro Conservation Area
From Lake Manyara National Park, you will set out for N'gorongoro Conservation Area for a full day's safari. Deemed the "eighth wonder of the world's greatest natural spectacle," the N'gorongoro Conservation Area boasts a combination of swirling landscapes, various wildlife, wonderful people, and ancient archaeology unsurpassed by any other location in Africa .
The volcanoes, grassland, waterfalls, and forested mountains are home to an abundance of animals - lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes as well as a prismatic catalog of hundreds of bird specimens. This area's magical setting and abundance of wildlife has fascinated visitors for years.

DAY three: Tarangire National Park - Moshi
The final day of your short term volunteer abroad in Tanzania adventure, you will set out for Tarangire National Park for a full day's safari. Home to a vast number of elephants (upwards of 1000), Tarangire National Park offers numerous opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, and leopards in addition to its massive diversity of wildlife and the symbolic Baobab tree.
Tarangire National Park is an ornithologist's paradise, offering a variety of feathered species, including some of the most aggressive birds of prey flapping their expansive wings over the famously-varied fauna and avifauna. At the conclusion of your safari, you will return to Moshi.
