Weekend Exploration

While participating in volunteer opportunities in Tanzania, you will be working for 5 days in a week from Monday to Friday. You get 2 days off in a week, which you can spend by visiting the places of natural and cultural significance in Tanzania.

There are plenty of tourist attractions in Tanzania for everyone to experience and admire. Tanzania is a Swahili paradise, land of safaris, fascinating cultures, idyllic beaches, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar Archipelago. Tanzania has all these and much more to offer in the weekends

Katavi National Park

Katavi National Park is Tanzania’s third-largest national park.  It is less frequented area and has one of its most unspoiled wildernesses. This is one of the best places for getting wildlife experience during your weekends in Tanzania volunteer opportunities program.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park is one of the greatest wildlife watching destinations on earth.  An excellent place to observe the predators hunting across open plains, and also one can watch the epic migration of animals in millions. This is the place you should ideally visit in the weekends while participating in volunteer programs in Tanzania.

Ol Doinyo Lengai

This a volcano in Crater Higlands revered as Mountain God in the Maasai langauge. Standing tall at 2878m it presents a conical sight with steep sides rising to a small, flat-topped peak with hot steam vents and ash cones. A spectacular mountain for paying a visit during the weekends, while volunteering in Tanzania, and get an experience of a lifetime.

Empakaai Crater

Empakaai Crater is both a crater and Lake-filled beauty of Tanzania. This beautiful crater draws flamingos and other water birds towards its lake to quench their thirst. This very place is surrounded by steep-sided, forested cliffs at least 300m high. Be here during the weekends to get the view from the crater rim and make your Tanzania volunteering experience a memorable encounter while volunteering in Tanzania programs.

Other interesting places to visit during your weekend are:

Visit the Gombe National Park to get hold of Tanzania's smallest national park.
Be at the Rubondo Island National Park to watch the sublime lakeshore scenery
Spend time at the Misali Island to try hands on snorkeling and watch nesting turtles.
Visit the Ngorongoro Crater to catch a glimpse of the largest unbroken crater.
